Blackberry alerts about the risk of saturation of the mobile network
Blackberry’s manufacturer, RIM, assured that creators of smart phones must start developing products that consume less bandwidth if they want to avoid the already congested waves to collapse. In the meantime, users abandon traditional mobile phones and buy wireless modems and smart phones, such as Apple’s IPhone, and the traffic grows. Mike Lazaridis, founder of RIM, sees this situation as a saturation threat for the network capacity. Wireless operators, in particular in North America’s urban centers, are already showing signs of stress, such as lost calls and a slower speed of data transfers.
