Testimonial by Ren Ee Chee, principal investigator at the Singapore Immunology Network and director of Graduate Affairs, A*STAR

“The endeavour of the Bankinter Foundation of Innovation is truly unique, not only in Spain but also globally. It demonstrates that the Bank sees itself as a societal enabler, a driver for change and not just as a financial house.  The Future Trends Forum meetings conduct such exchange and debate of evelopments that will have an impending change on our lives and it is not difficult to see that the FTF itself is an innovation.

Other international forums that I participate in are either subject focused or theme focused. There are 3 main characteristics that define the strength of the FTF approach. First, is the combination of diversity and immediacy of addressing issues. Second, is that the choice of discussion topics are impact driven through a collective voting process by members. Third, is the deliberate mix of experts from within the subject area and from other discipline. The combinatorial effect of these factors means that a topic can be addressed with both breadth and depth, resulting in broad insights that may sometimes be unanticipated.”
