“The Future Trends Forum in conjunction with the Bankinter Foundation of Innovation has provided a unique venue for examination of the most important topics of discussion in the global environment. The selection of such topics including Nanotechnology, Innovation, Energy and others has provided a breadth that is atypical in other forums that would choose to focus on a very narrow field.
While the topics of discussion are broad, the actual nature of the debate is controlled by inviting only the top experts to a roundtable multiple day presentation and debate format limited in size such that the exchanges can be in depth, controversial at times and pertinent. This is certainly not a large impersonal “conference” where you learn from others more by chance than design nor is it focused on a single narrow topic which bores the audience with interactions between attendees coming only by chance. This forum is designed to maximize communication and contact.
Perhaps the most important aspect of the FTF is the people. The invited experts for each topic are of course renowned but also mesh in a way that highlights their similarities in discussing a particular topic but also their differences. This diversity becomes apparent during the activities segment of the FTF where individuals form small teams to focus on specific subtopics during the forum. As the members of the teams rotate, each member gets exposed to the opinions and insights of the others until at last at the end of the conference there is often a sense of sadness that one could continue the thinking, idea creation and philosophizing indefinitely.
With locations from Madrid to Santiago de Compostela, chosen to emphasize the history and majesty of Spain, it is no wonder that the FTF is truly one of the best International Forums.”
