Nitin Nohria, Dean of Harvard Business School, shared with us the innovations that aim to bring a prestigious and consolidated business school to the next level. Before introducing these innovations, Nitin explained to the audience what makes Harvard Business School different: the case method. This competitive advantage helps understand the changes that Nitin is planning for HBS. These innovations will apply not only to the curriculum but also to the infrastructure that supports it. Firstly, Nitin presented the field case method, an approach that will bring closer the academic world to the outside world. Secondly, he shared a pilot of a new architectural structure that should respond to the new educational needs of our society.

Nitin Nohria became the tenth dean of Harvard Business School on 1 July 2010. He previously served as co-chair of the Leadership Initiative, Senior Associate Dean of Faculty Development, and Head of the Organizational Behavior unit. His intellectual interests center on human motivation, leadership, corporate transformation and accountability, and sustainable economic and human performance. He and Amanda Pepper collaborated with XPlane in creating the Paths to Power video to generate a discussion of the value and importance of leadership in addressing some of society's most pressing problems. In June 2010, in anticipation of a conference he hosted with Rakesh Khurana and Scott Snook, Harvard Business Review launched a six-week blog on how leadership might look in the future. He is co-author or co-editor of 16 books. His most recent, Handbook of Leadership Theory and Practice, is a compendium dedicated to advancing research on leadership based on a colloquium he organized during HBS’s centennial celebrations.

I was delighted to have had the opportunity to be present at the conference, and felt this was a great session. For me it is a perfect example of Juan Rosas introduction when he said "The most talented people in their field"
