Chief Technology Officer at Tokamak Energy

After 19 years at Rolls-Royce, where she became the company’s first female Chief Engineer for a major engine programme, Itxaso Ariza was appointed Tokamak Energy’s inaugural Chief Technology Officer in 2024. She now shapes the technology roadmap for the firm’s compact spherical-tokamak and high-temperature-superconducting-magnet ventures, including their commercial spin-out TE Magnetics. A Fellow of the IMechE, Ariza won the Royal Aeronautical Society’s 2019 Sir Ralph Robins Medal for Engineering Leadership and champions cross-sector innovation to realise market-ready fusion power in the 2030s.
