In this edition of the course, the best entrepreneurial projects of Akademia students from each of the universities participating in the program competed in the Expoday Akademia 2018.
Akademia is the Bankinter Innovation Foundation’s programme that brings innovation to Spanish universities. This program offers students an innovation experience that teaches them the tools that innovation offers for their future.
Through the main innovation trends analysed by the Future Trends Forum (the think tank of the Bankinter Innovation Foundation), Akademia takes a tour of the key issues to learn about technological developments, business models and the socio-economic implications of innovation. In addition, students work in groups to develop an idea into a prototype of an entrepreneurial project.
In this edition of the course, the best entrepreneurial projects of Akademia students from each of the universities participating in the program competed in the Expoday Akademia 2018. A jury made up of investors and accelerators in Spain chose the best project.
The winning project was Brain Speed, by students from the Carlos III University of Madrid. Brain Speed is a Trivia game streamed through a mobile app. Brain Speed has won a pre-incubation grant with Bridge for Billions to be able to continue working on their project.
To end the event, Álvaro Zamácola, Director of Operations of BlaBlaCar in Spain and Portugal, shared with our students the motivating story of BlaBlaCar’s development in Spain, confirming that, with a good idea and work, all projects can become a successful company.
This Expoday 2018 closed the Akademia 2017-18 course, a course where more than 200 students have lived the experience of innovation and have discovered the tools they have to create their future.
