Idoven: When technology saves lives

AI-generated summary

Last month, Manuel Marina and Jose María Lillo, co-founders of the startup Idoven, shared how technology can save lives by preventing heart disease, the leading cause of death worldwide. Idoven focuses on the early detection of heart problems such as arrhythmias that can lead to heart attacks and sudden death. Their innovative approach combines artificial intelligence-driven data analysis in the cloud with wearable technology to monitor long-duration electrocardiograms (ECGs). Patients receive a monitoring kit, including a “sports Holter” shirt, which they wear during daily activities or training. After returning the device, Idoven analyzes the data to provide a highly accurate cardiological diagnosis.

Currently serving around 200 patients per month, Idoven collaborates with over 20 hospitals and health centers, as well as more than 10 sports teams. Their product-service model not only facilitates early detection but also enables widespread distribution. The impact of Idoven’s technology is measured by lives saved, reduction in cardiovascular events, scientific publications, and healthcare cost savings. The founders also share their entrepreneurial journey in Spain in an interview video available online, highlighting their experience in bringing this life-saving innovation to market.

Manuel and Chema, co-founders of Idoven, told us how technology can be a way to save lives.

Last month, Manuel Marina and Jose María Lillo visited us to tell us how technology can save lives. They are the co-founders of Idoven, a startup for the detection of heart problems that can prevent heart disease, heart attacks and sudden death.

Manuel and Chema told us how technology is the way to make it possible. Through preventive treatment of sudden death, the leading cause of death in the world can be reduced; cardiovascular disease.

Idoven software combines data analysis in the cloud based on artificial intelligence algorithms with the use of wearable technology to analyze long-duration electrocardiograms and classify arrhythmias. The procedure is simple; A study is requested and you are sent a monitoring kit along with a “sports Holter” or “long-lasting Holter” shirt and instructions for use. It is used on a daily basis or when training and is returned. Idoven analyzes the records and makes a highly accurate cardiological diagnosis.

Currently, Idoven has about 200 patients/month. As clients, they work with more than 20 hospitals or health centers and more than 10 sports teams. Not only have they been able to create a product associated with a service, but they are also being able to distribute it.

The way to measure its impact is through the number of lives saved, reduction in cardiovascular events, scientific publications and cost reduction.
