With a degree in economics from the University of St. Gallen in Switzerland, Max Burger-Calderón also holds an MBA from Harvard Business School. He began his career at Dresdner Bank in Singapore and later joined The Boston Consulting Group (BCG) in Munich. After leaving BCG, he achieved the successful turnaround of a family-owned business. In 1986, he co-founded the PPC – Corporate Finance Partners AG with Michael Hinderer in Zurich. He launched the Madrid office of the CFP in 1988 and co-founded the Munich office in 1989. PPC became a member of the Apax Partners Group in 1989. In 2005 the Apax office in Hong Kong was launched as a first step in building Apax’ presence in Asia. From July 2002 to June 2003, Max Burger-Calderón was President of the EVCA (European Venture Capital Association).
