Founder and Chief Executive of Cyber Essentials Direct

John’s career in communications, security & intelligence operations began in 1973 followed by 20 years service in the Royal Air Force (Security Branch), UK.  In the private sector, he has undertaken senior security & technology roles within Unisys and at Unilever and Johnson & Johnson.  In 2002, he became the UK’s Crime Reduction Coordinator at the first multi-agency law enforcement unit in the world to focus on organised crime on the Internet. Whilst serving in this role, he established the first UK national public/private sector cybersecurity awareness programme – “GetSafeOnline.org”.  In 2010, he founded the International Cyber Security Protection Alliance.  He is a Liveryman of the City of London’s Worshipful Company of Information Technologists.
