Simone Brummelhuis is the Vice President of Europe for Astia.org. Founded in 1999 in Silicon Valley, Astia is an innovative global non-profit organization that drives women’s full participation as entrepreneurs and leaders in high-growth businesses, fueling innovation and driving economic growth. Astia offers high-growth programs.

She worked for 10 years as an international lawyer (Skadden, New York & Loeff Claeys Verbeke, Amsterdam, New York) before becoming an entrepreneur by creating her own B2B publishing house Brummsbooks.

Thereafter, she joined VC backed IENS.nl as co-owner and managing director; developed this implementation into the No. 1 user-generated content restaurant information database editor in the Netherlands; She is currently on the Advisory Board of IENS.

Simone is a frequent judge on business plan competitions and awards (such as accenture’s annual Media Awards Innovation, UK Pitch ’09, NACUE Varsity Awards, Sprout Challenger competition, Suikeroom Pitch 2010 competitions, UK Everywoman Technology Awards 2011, 2012), who was invited-editor-in-chief for the Dutch Heroes Businesswoman Sprout Broadcast in cooperation with The NextWomen, has hosted the internet program ELLA (interviews with business women) on Blueshotstv, she sits on the recommendation committee of the www.1procentclub. nl y is a frequent speaker on topics such as female entrepreneurship, social media, networking, innovation and Internet concepts.

She was nominated as the 2010 Woman online media of the year, won the 2008 Pioneer Award and was one of 20 women to follow on Twitter for Business, Marketing, Technology Tips in Forbes.com.
