Aubrey de Grey

Aubrey de Grey is an English biomedical gerontologist educated at the University of Cambridge, in the United Kingdom. De Grey is the author of The Mitochondrial Free Radical Theory of Aging. It works on the development of engineered negligible senescence – a tissue repair strategy that would rejuvenate the human body and thus allow for an indefinite life expectancy. To achieve this, he has identified seven types of tissue damage caused by aging that must be medically repaired before this goal can be achieved.

His popularity has been on the rise in recent years, and de Grey has been interviewed in many outlets, including CBS’s 60 Minutes, the BBC, the New York Times, Fortune magazine, Free Talk Live, Prison Planet, Popular Science, and The Colbert Report. His main activities are currently as president and chief scientific officer of the Methuselah Foundation and editor-in-chief of the academic journal Rejuvenation Research.
