Dorothy Marcic is a professor at Columbia University and a former professor at Vanderbilt University’s Owen Graduate School of Management. She was a Fulbright scholar at the Prague University of Economics, where she taught MBA students.

She worked as an advisor to the U.S. Ambassador to the Czech Republic and was a delegate for Economic and Social Affairs to the United Nations Develop Summit in Copenhagen and the UN Commission on the Status of Women, as well as consulting with Ford Motor Company, Hewlett-Packard, State Department, Bell Labs/AT&T, USAA Insurance and many others from the United States.

She is the author of 15 books, including the management of Best-Selling Understanding, Managing the Wisdom of Love, Love Me Rise Superior, and Respect: Women and Popular Music, which was based on qualitative content-analysis research of how women are represented in Top-40 music lyrics. With this research data, Dr. Marcic wrote two musicals: RESPECT, which has played 2,600 performances in 32 cities out of one million tickets sold; and SISTAS, which was nominated for Best New Off-Broadway Musical and has been performed for two years.
