Emilio Ontiveros
Ciudad Real (1948) Graduate and Doctor of CC.EE. He worked for more than seven years, in industrial companies nationwide, before starting his career as a university professor. Since 1985, Professor of Business Economics (Universidad Autónoma de Madrid), of which he was Vice-Chancellor for four years.
Founder and President of Analistas Financieros Internacionales. He is also president of Technology, Information and Finance, School of Applied Finance, and AFInet Global (all companies of the Afi Group).
Author of several books and numerous articles and collaborations in specialized journals on economics and international finance. Among his books: Eurocurrency Market. Director of the Economists Magazine (Colegio Economistas Madrid), and of the Yearbook of Economics and Finance “El País”, since the foundation of both. Member of the Editorial Board of El País, founding member of the Spanish Association of International Economics and Finance, of the Advisory Board of the Journal of Applied Economics and of the Editorial Boards of several scientific and professional publications.
The Junta de Comunidades de Castilla La Mancha awarded him the Plaque of Recognition of Regional Merit according to Decree 102/2000, of 9 May.
On July 15, 2004 he obtained (together with Daniel Manzano Romero and Ignacio Rodríguez Teubal) the IX Círculo de Empresarios Award for economic research, for the work entitled “ICT, economic growth and business activity. Special reference to Spain”. The Círculo Award was announced in this edition under the slogan “Information technologies and economic growth: the role of the company”
On November 11, 2004 he was awarded the Cadena Ser Communication Award in Ciudad Real.
Appointed on 22 February 2005 by the Minister of Industry, José Montilla, Chairman of the Paper on Convergence with the EU in the Information Society.
In July-August 2005 he was a Fellow of the Real Colegio Complutense (Harvard University), as a member of the Advanced Research Group on International Economics, developing his Research Project at the same Center and participating in the Seminars given by the members of the Group and Professors of Harvard University.
In September 2005 he was appointed member of the Advisory Commission for the Information and Communication Society of the Ministry of Industry, Tourism and Trade.
Since January 2006 he has been a Member of the Innovation Advisory Council of the Science Park of Madrid (Universidad Autónoma de Madrid)

In March 2006 he was appointed by the Ministry of Public Administrations, member of the Advisory Council for Electronic Administration.
In December 2006 he was appointed by the City Council of Madrid, member of the City Council of the City.

He has been a visiting scholar in July and August 2008 at the Wharton School – University of Pennsylvania.
