Erik Fernández

A telecommunications engineer with a PhD from the University of Navarra, Erik Fernández is General Manager of INEUSTAR, Spain’s Science Industry Association, which groups 30 high-tech firms that win contracts at ITER, CERN, the European Spallation Source and IFMIF-DONES. He is spearheading “Fusion Europe,” a pan-European industry network created to align suppliers ahead of DEMO-scale fusion procurements. Fernández champions “big-science” infrastructures as engines of resilience for advanced-manufacturing SMEs and, through initiatives such as the IFMIF-DONES Industry Office in Granada, works with regional authorities to maximise science-industry spill-overs.
