Francisco J. Díaz

He is CEO and founder of SPARC Foundry, a European pure-play III-V photonic semiconductor foundry based in Vigo. SPARC develops advanced manufacturing platforms for GaAs, InP, and GaN-on-Si/SiC technologies, targeting communications, defense, sensing, aerospace, and next-generation photonics. Francisco is also Associate Professor at the University of Vigo and Director of QOPHI Lab, focusing on photonic integrated circuits, wafer-level testing, and advanced packaging. He has led Horizon Europe and national projects bridging academic research and industrial needs in photonic integration and semiconductor technology transfer.
