Javier Santiso

Javier Santiso, began his career in 1995 at the American Center of the University of Oxford. Titular as a researcher at the Center d’Etudes et de Recherches Internationales of the Institute of Political Studies of Paris (Sciences Po), for which he worked as Senior Associate Expert in Emerging Markets of Credit Agricole Indosuez (now Calyon) before becoming, in 2002 , the chief economist for Latin America and Emerging Markets at the Madrid-based Economic Research Service of Banco Bilbao Vizcaya Argentaria (BBVA), where he led a team of 50 economists, spread over 9 countries.

Mr. Santiso has a BA, MA and PhD from the Institute of Political Studies in Paris and completed his PhD studies in Development Economics at Saint Anthony’s College, Oxford University. So He has an MBA from the HEC School of Management of the (School of High Commercial Studies) in France, and an Executive MBA from the IESE Business School (Executive Corporate Program for Business Leaders) in Spain. Member of the Editorial Committee of “Problèmes d’Amérique latine”, Mr. Santiso is the author of more than 30 articles on international economics.
