John Martin
John Martin
John Martin has worked for 36 years at the OECD on labour market issues and social policies. During that period he became a founding editor of the OECD Employment Outlook, overseeing, for many years, the quality and policy relevance of the topics covered by the Outlook.
For two years, he was also editor of the OECD Economic Outlook and was in charge of the OECD’s regular short-term forecasting work.
The French and Irish Governments appointed him to serve on Councils to advise them on employment policies. Since his retirement as Director of the OECD in 2013, he has worked as a consultant on labour market and social policy issues and has continued his research work on these issues through positions at the Institute of Labour (IZA) in Bonn and the Geary Institute at University College Dublin.
