Massimo Livi-Bacci is a professor of demography at the University of Florence. He is convinced of the need for an interdisciplinary approach to population studies and believes that expansion into other fields, beyond demography, is essential for a comprehensive explanation of major research topics.
He was elected to the Italian Senate twice; April 2006 and April 2008.
