Michela Muñoz

Michela is an expert in high-reliability electronics and deep-space communications with nearly three decades in the space sector. She began at INTA/ESA and has spent 25 years at NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory and NASA HQ, leading systems engineering for missions such as Juno, Mars Science Laboratory, Perseverance, Mars Sample Return, Artemis I/Orion and ExoMars TGO. She holds a PhD in Electrical Engineering from Caltech on optical receivers for Mars links. A former NASA principal investigator in deep-space communications and AI for Mars rovers, she has received multiple awards from NASA, ESA and leading Spanish technology organizations.
