Miguel Ángel Carrera

Miguel Ángel Carrera, founder and CEO of AVS, holds an MSc in Advanced Engineering and an Executive MBA. He is Vice President of Tekniker and sits on the Fusion Industry Innovation Forum board. After a decade in Tekniker’s Mechatronics and Precision Engineering Department, he launched AVS in 2006 to deliver solutions for accelerators, fusion and space. Headquartered in Spain with subsidiaries in France, the UK and the US, AVS is now a global science leader, credited with ITER heating / diagnostics, hadron-therapy accelerators, Mars Perseverance hardware and the LUR-1 satellite.

AVS conceives  and develop unique mechanisms, instruments and robotics for Earth Observation, Exploration, Telecommunication and Science missions as well as Ground Support Equipment and In-orbit servicing applications. They are also working towards a new, extensive catalogue of space products covering thermal applications, mechanisms and Electric Propulsion systems, that enhance and create mission opportunities and capabilities.
