Miguel Ángel Carrera

Miguel Ángel Carrera, founder and CEO of AVS, holds a master’s degree in Advanced Engineering and an Executive MBA. He is vice-president of Tekniker and a member of the board of the Fusion Industry Innovation Forum. After a decade in Tekniker’s Mechatronics and Precision Engineering Department, he founded AVS in 2006 with the aim of offering solutions for accelerators, fusion and space. Headquartered in Spain and with subsidiaries in France, the United Kingdom and the United States, AVS is today a world leader in science, with projects such as the ITER heating and diagnostic system, accelerators for hadron therapy, the Mars Perseverance hardware and the LUR-1 satellite.

AVS conceives and develops unique mechanisms, instruments, and robotics for observation, exploration, telecommunications, and Earth science missions, as well as for ground support equipment and in-orbit service applications.

They are also working to achieve a new and extensive catalog of space products that cover thermal applications, mechanisms and electric propulsion systems, which improve and create opportunities and capabilities for the mission.
