Dr. Husain is involved in training, education and research in general psychiatry; aging and geriatric problems; and novel treatments for major depressive disorder, including vagus nerve stimulation from magnetic stimulation and deep brain stimulation.
He has published numerous peer-reviewed articles in national and international scientific journals and has written several book chapters. He currently serves as a reviewer for leading professional journals. He is on the editorial board of the Journal of ECT.
Dr. Husain has received several awards, including the FDA’s Asian American Achievement Award, NCDEU’s Young Investigator Award, and NIMH’s 1st Summer Research Institute Award.
