Ravikumar Gupta
Ravi is an innovation and intellectual property economist, passionate about leveraging knowledge of technology commercialization, innovation economics, and technology policy to contribute to economic development. He advises innovative companies and national and regional governments on issues related to venture finance, innovation and IP policy, currently through the World Bank Group. With extensive experience in technology commercialization, angel investing, and the establishment of innovation funds, his interest also covers theoretical and analytical studies on topics such as the valuation of intangible assets, open innovation models, economic analysis of intellectual property law, and entrepreneurship. He is particularly interested in the impact of innovation on the Base of the Pyramid, policies that encourage innovation and business models to achieve benefits from innovation to the balance of payments. Ravi pursued economics for Ph.D.-level courses and politics at the University of Chicago, where he earned his Master’s degree. In addition, he holds an MBA in Finance and a bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering.
