Rick Jacobs

Rick Jacobs is the CEO of Accelerator for America, a nonprofit organization that provides strategic support to the best local initiatives to strengthen people’s economic security.

Rick has held several positions throughout his professional career. He has served as Executive Vice Mayor and Deputy Chief of Staff to Los Angeles Mayor Eric Garcetti and separately founded and serves on the board of the Mayor’s Fund for Los Angeles. Jacobs founded and served as president of the national advocacy group Courage Campaign and founded and was CEO of Newstar, Inc. He was vice president and assistant to the founder and CEO of Occidental Petroleum. He graduated from Georgetown University’s School of Foreign Service. He was the California president of Howard Dean’s campaign for U.S. president.
