Simone Brummelhuis

Simone Brummelhuis is the Vice President of Europe for Astia.org. Founded in 1999 in Silicon Valley, Astia is an innovative global nonprofit organization that drives women’s full participation as entrepreneurs and leaders in high-growth businesses, fueling innovation and driving economic growth. Astia offers high-growth programs.

She worked for 10 years as an international lawyer (Skadden, New York & Loeff Claeys Verbeke, Amsterdam, New York) before becoming an entrepreneur by setting up her own B2B publishing house Brummsbooks.

Thereafter, she joined VC backed IENS.nl as co-owner and managing director; developed this startup in the No. 1 user-generated content database publisher of restaurants in the Netherlands; She is currently on the IENS Advisory Board.

Simone is a frequent judge at business plan competitions and awards (such as Accenture’s annual Media Innovation Awards, UK Pitch ’09, NACUE Varsity Awards, Sprout Challenger competition, Suikeroom Pitch 2010 competitions, UK Everywoman Technology Awards 2011, 2012), he was guest-editor-in-chief for the Dutch Heroes Business Woman Issue Sprout in cooperation with The NextWomen, She has hosted the internet program ELLA (interviews with businesswomen) on Blueshotstv, she sits on the Recommendation committee of the www.1procentclub. nl and is a frequent speaker on topics such as female entrepreneurship, social media, networking, innovation and Internet concepts.

She was nominated for Online Media Woman of the Year 2010, won the 2008 Pioneer Award, and was one of 20 women to follow on Twitter for Business, Marketing, Tips Technology in Forbes.com.
