Steven Biegalski
Steven Biegalski is Chair of the Nuclear & Radiological Engineering and Medical Physics Program at Georgia Tech, where he leads research on radiation detection, nuclear safeguards and medical-isotope production. A nuclear engineer (B.S. Maryland, M.E. Florida, Ph.D. Illinois), he has authored more than 200 papers and received the 2024 ANS Radiation Science & Technology
Award as well as the 2025 George Hevesy Medal for radiochemistry. Biegalski has advised federal agencies and National Academies panels on advanced-reactor issues and co-led multi-institutional neutron-source projects.
