Tobias Erb

Tobias is a synthetic biologist focused on designing innovative strategies for converting carbon dioxide. Renowned for engineering the first “new-to-nature” CO2 fixation pathway and synthetic chloroplasts, he is member of EMBO, the National Academy of Sciences (Leopoldina), and the National Academy of Engineering (acatech). His research at the intersection of chemistry and biology advances sustainable biotechnology and artificial photosynthetic systems to redefine carbon capture for the global bio-economy.
