Head of Artificial Intelligence and Emerging Compute Lab in HP Labs
Anthony Lewis leads technical innovation in compute for HP with emphasis in Deep Learning, the control of Cyber-Physical Systems, and future compute paradigms. Dr. Lewis has held a number research leadership positions including director of the Commotion Robotics lab at UCLA, and before HP, as an executive at Qualcomm Corporate R&D. He is known for innovative work in robotics and the application of neuromorphic and computational neuroscience learning models hosted in robots. At the Caltech Jet Propulsion Lab Dr. Lewis built an award-winning control system for a robotic hand. In addition, Dr. Lewis has co-developed motor control chips for control of animal spinal cords, and for object recognition, and modeled aspects of human locomotion using robots.
