Clive Bowman

Medical Director in BUPA

Clive Bowman has been Medical Director of BUPA’s Care Services since 2000 having previously spent 15 years as a Consultant Physician and Geratologist in the West Country where he was also Associate Director of the International Institute on Health and Aging at the University of Bristol. He currently chairs the CCC (a coalition of charities, providers and related interests regarding the care of older people) and has extensive involvement and networks in health and care.

His professional experience in the NHS and responsibilities with BUPA combined with his involvement with other organisations concerned with care and aging have given him a unique perspective on health and care in later life and the practicalities of care in advanced frailty.

In addition to chairing the CCC Clive contributes to the working of the charity Counsel and Care and the work of the Joseph Rowntree Foundation. Clive has and continues to be involved in a range of contributed to working parties from bodies such as the Royal College of Physicians and King’s Fund and advises and presents widely on matters relating to health and care.
