Juan Carlos Fernández holds a MSc in Industrial Engineering from the Universidad Politecnica de Madrid, a MSc in Financial Management from the Centre for Financial & Management Studies, University of London, and an MBA from Instituto de Empresa.
Mr Fernandez is Director of Promotion, Impact Analysis and Corporate Services of CDTI. He is responsible for directing the Centre’s promotion and marketing activities, impact analysis of all the financial instruments and programmes, and has led the creation of the NEOTEC initiative (2001) and NEOTEC Capital Riesgo (2006).
Previously, he served at CDTI as head of the Technology Transfer Department (1991-1996) and head of the International Technology Cooperation Department (1996-2001). In this last period he was the Spanish representative in the Innovation and SME Programme of the 5th Framework Programme of R&D of the European Union, which promoted Innovation at Community level and encouraged SME participation in R&D programmes.
Before joining CDTI, Mr Fernandez was a manufacturing engineer at AT&T Microelectronics (1988-1991).
