Julia Li belongs to a unique breed of entrepreneurs who have been successful in building sustainable business ventures in both the US and China. Julia launched her professional career as a Wealth Manager at Andrew Alexandra and Wise Co in New York City before moving to Wall Street to a highly successful career as an investment banker at Oscar Gruss & Sons. While on Wall Street, she co-founded her first business, US Digest Inc., which publishes a widely-read magazine for Chinese living in North America. After Wall Street, Julia joined the senior management team of Perform Inc, an HR software company co-invested by Accenture and Microsoft, as General Manager for Asia. Julia also co-founded the Art Collectors’ Gallery, a prestigious art gallery in New York specializing in fine-quality Chinese and Asian art and Antiques. Moving to Shanghai in 2000, she founded HCD Global. Since arriving in China, Julia has been involved in numerous philanthropically and business ventures including Venture Partner and China Managing Partner at Infinity I-China Fund, the largest Israel-China investment fund backed by IDB in Israel and the China Development Bank. Currently Julia is Investment Committee Member at Infinity China and a board member at a real estate business and a textile company.
Julia’s diverse background and entrepreneurial energy give her unique insight into complex management problems often cast in a cross-cultural social context. Her thorough understanding of Western and Chinese culture and her background in HR give her a unique appreciation of the people aspects in managing growth strategies in China.
