Luis Lada Diaz
Presidential Advisor in Telefonica de España
Mr. Luis Lada born in 1949, is the Presidential advisor of Telefonica de España. He holds a degree in telecommunications engineering and joined the Telefónica Group in 1973 in the Research and Development Department, rising through the ranks to hold various managerial and executive positions and currently is a member of A.P.D. Supervisory Board.
In 1989 he was Deputy Director for Technology, Planning and International Services.
Later he joined Amper Group, a manufacturer of telecommunications system and equipment, as Director of Planning and Control. He returned to the Telefónica Group in 1993 as Chief Controller for Subsidiaries and Participated Companies. In 1994 he was appointed Chief Executive Officer of Telefónica Móviles de España, S.A., and in September 2000 he was went on to become President and Chief Executive of Telefónica Móviles, S.A. until 2004, when he was named Director for Development, Planning and Regulatory Affairs of Telefónica, S.A.
In 2005 he was appointed Executive Chairman of Telefónica de España, S.A.U. Now he also serves on the boards of directors of Telefónica, S.A., Telefónica Móviles, S.A. and Telefónica Internacional, S.A.
In June 2005, he was elected member of the Royal Academy of Engineering, (Real Academia de Ingeniería).
Along his career he has served on the boards of many companies such as Standard Eléctrica S.A., Sogecable S.A. and Amper S.A. Currently he’s a member of the Telecommunications Engineering Association, the A.P.D. Supervisory Board, Enter, Fundación Telefónica and Fundetec.
