Luis Martínez Ribes

Professor of Marketing and Retail Innovation in ESADE

Passionate about retail innovation, a specialty that he has developed in 20 countries, he manages to combine his work at ESADE as Associate Professor in the Department of Marketing Management, with consultancy activity in intellectually significant projects.

He is Visiting Professor at the University of Edinburgh (Scotland, United Kingdom) and at SDA Bocconi (Milan, Italy). He has lectured at the University of Vienna (Austria), Scuola Superiore del Commercio of Milan (Italy), École Supérieure de Commerce of Lyons (France), Universidad Católica de Córdoba (Argentina), the Stucka University of Kharkov (Ukraine) and the Kazakhstan Institute of Management (KIMEP) in Kazakhstan. He has also presented sessions at the Goizueta Business School and at various other academic institutions. In 2004, he took the Active Learning Program at Harvard Business School, USA. He gives numerous lectures and is author of several books and articles.

As a consultant, he has worked with companies such as Bayer, Bimbo, Camper, Caprabo, Coca-Cola, the International Olympic Committee, Eroski, Eukanuba, Euromadi, Fagor, Filocolore, Goodyear, the Danone Group, the Sans Group (Sara Lee branded apparel), Habitat, Imaginarium, Intersport, 'la Caixa', Logista, Marcilla (Sara Lee), Mattel, Mercadona, Milar, Nutrexpa (Cola Cao), Pans & Company, Prénatal, Punto Blanco, Pyrénées, Sonríe, Supsa, Unilever (Pond's Institute), Uralita, Valentine or Viajes El Corte Inglés, among others.

Winner of the City Marketing award 2004 for the best city promotion marketing plan with the Smuack Lleida project. Adviser to Supsa, the company winning the World Electronic Marketing Award (1999).

He has been an ESADE lecturer since 1986, and Director of the Department of Marketing Management, 'The Market Team' (2003-2005).
