CEO in Accelerator for America
Rick Jacobs non-profit executive underscores the Accelerator’s mission to bridge the public and private sectors to connect people with fulfilling work. He served as Los Angeles Mayor Eric Garcetti’s Executive Vice Mayor and Deputy Chief of Staff and separately founded and is a board member of the Mayor’s Fund for Los Angeles. Jacobs founded and was Chair of the national advocacy group Courage Campaign and founded and was CEO of Newstar, Inc., which worked in Russia with companies like Lockheed and Marriott. He was Vice President and Assistant to Occidental Petroleum founder and Chairman/CEO Dr. Armand Hammer. He is a graduate of Georgetown University’s School of Foreign Service. He was California chair of Howard Dean’s campaign for US president in 2003-4.
