Víctor Pérez-Díaz. Ph. D. Harvard University (1976). Professor of Sociology at the Complutense University of Madrid and Director of ASP Research Center (Madrid). He has been Visiting Professor of Political Science at Harvard University, the Massachussets Institute of Technology (MIT), the University of California (San Diego), the Institut d'Études Politiques of Paris, the Graduate School and New York University. Author of more than 20 books and more than one hundred papers and other publications in several languages. His books include: The Return of Civil Society (Harvard University Press, 1993); España puesta a prueba 1976-1996 (Alianza Editorial, 1996); La esfera pública y la sociedad civil (Taurus, 1997); Spain at the Crossroads (Harvard University Press, 1999); Educación superior y futuro de España; La educación profesional en España and La educación general en España (Madrid, Fundación Santillana, 2001, 2002 and 2003, the three with Juan Carlos Rodríguez); España ante la inmigración (Fundación La Caixa, 2002),Una interpretación liberal del futuro de España (Taurus, 2002), and El tercer sector social en España (Ministerio de Trabajo y Asuntos Sociales, 2003).
