Eulogi Bordas, CEO of our investee company Photoslurp, tells us about his founding process and how he sees entrepreneurship in Spain
Eulogi Bordas is the CEO and Co-Founder of Photoslurp, one of the startups in which the Bankinter Innovation Foundation has a stake through Bankinter Venture Capital.
In this interview, Eulogi Bordas presents his project. Photoslurp is a technological solution that allows brands to connect with their followers, expose their products and monetize the social content that customers create with the products of the brands in question.
We all upload photos on our social networks, what Photoslurp does is provide the tools to link the user-generated photos with the ecommerce catalog of the product in question, which generates a direct cross-sale without the brand having to do anything. To explain it with an example, a girl uploads a photo with a dress of the XXX brand, Photoslurp first identifies all the images where the XXX brand has been tagged, relates the dress to the one in the online catalog and makes a direct link to the purchase page of that dress. This data linking not only makes the direct sales process as easy as a click (increasing their conversion rate by 5 to 15%), but it allows any brand to monitor and get to know their customers through their activity on social networks, increasing the quality of the interaction of brands with their customers.
Solutions such as Photoslurp are an example of the great journey of innovation in the field of marketing. There are more and more communication and marketing channels, but at the same time it has problems capturing the attention of the audience, developing new techniques to improve the relationship with the customer. There is great potential for innovation in marketing here.
In the second part of the interview, we asked Eulogi about her entrepreneurial experience, and she told us how, after a short, but very successful career in a consultancy, she decided to launch her own project with a technological side.
For Eulogi, entrepreneurship is doing ten marathons in the desert, without food and at night. It is a challenge that requires a lot of effort and a lot of uncertainty, so he believes that it is not something that can be recommended worldwide. But you can always go to look for support and help. To achieve this, what Eulogi recommends is that the first thing to do is to give your project as much visibility as possible from day one.
Finally, Eulogi recommends that, in order to promote entrepreneurship in Spain, the government should promote more guarantees to obtain financing for projects.
