Rafael Mateu de Ros Cerezo is Founding Partner of Ramón y Cajal Abogados, he specializes in the areas of Commercial Law, Corporate Governance, National and International Tax Law, Litigation and Arbitration.

A State Lawyer, currently on leave of absence, he worked for several years in the Ministry of Finance, where he held the positions of Head of the Central Resources Service, Head of the Technical Cabinet of the Undersecretary and Deputy Director General.

Subsequently, he oriented his career towards the private sector, being Secretary of the Board of Directors and Head of the Legal Department of several companies, such as Endiasa, Eniepsa and Hispanoil. Subsequently, he was General Secretary and Secretary of the Board of Directors of Bankinter from 1986 to 2009, and currently holds the position of independent Director of Bankinter and Chairman of the Corporate Governance Committee of Bankinter.

In addition, he is a Director and Trustee of other companies and Foundations and Counsel to the Board of Directors of Iberdrola.

He is a full arbitrator of the Civil and Commercial Court of Arbitration of Madrid (CIMA), of the Court of Arbitration of Madrid (CAM) and member of the Banking and Financial Arbitration Committee of the European Arbitration Association (CByF of the AEADE), and has also acted as ad hoc arbitrator in various national and international arbitration proceedings.
