This small android, with the appearance of a sophisticated megaphone, helps families to take care of their elders, with a cost of around 50 euros per month.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>What happens when families&nbsp;<\/strong>and their older members are far away, or younger ones&nbsp;<strong>can&#8217;t spend as much time as they would like or should with older ones?<\/strong> <br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In 2015 the company was born&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/intuitionrobotics.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Intuition Robotics<\/a>, which focuses on&nbsp;<strong>paliar a specific problem&nbsp;<\/strong>of very long-lived people that is not talked about much:&nbsp;<strong> loneliness and social isolation<\/strong>, something that&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.ageuk.org.uk\/documents\/en-gb\/for-professionals\/evidence_review_loneliness_and_isolation.pdf?dtrk=true\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"> affects between 40% and 60% of this population segment.<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The company is developing a &#8220;companion for active aging&#8221; called ElliQ, securing $20 million in funding in a first round. The company is working on a new concept that sees aging as something to celebrate rather than focusing on disabilities, according to Dor Skuler, FTF expert and CEO and co-creator of Intuition Robotics.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-rich is-provider-gestor-del-servicio wp-block-embed-gestor-del-servicio wp-embed-aspect-16-9 wp-has-aspect-ratio\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"Una marca que celebra el envejecimiento | Dor Skuler\" width=\"500\" height=\"281\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/xDGzIT8RXBA?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe>\n<\/div><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">To alleviate the loneliness of older people -which has a direct impact not only on their quality of life, but also on their health-, two factors very implanted in today&#8217;s society must be modified: <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">&#8211; the digital divide and<br>&#8211; the tendency of older people to repeat the same routine and be reluctant to incorporate modifications.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The social robot ElliQ&nbsp;<strong>remuners its owners to take their medication, manages transportation, notifies them of their appointments&nbsp;<\/strong>not only face-to-face but telephone&nbsp;<strong>e even suggests joint recreational activities<\/strong>, such as online games. In the&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.ces.tech\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">CES<\/a>&nbsp;2019,&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=xvOigJDpuuw\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">ElliQ was presented as a finished product&nbsp;<\/a>and advance orders began to be accepted. Its price is around \u20ac 1,400, to which we will have to add a monthly fee &#8220;assumable&#8221;.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Contrary to what happens with other digital assistants such as Alexa,&nbsp;<strong>managing ElliQ does not require specific skills<\/strong>; it is also a proactive system, based on an artificial intelligence that tries to understand the world around it and adapt to objectives previously introduced by the elderly person it accompanies.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In February 2020, Intuition Robotics announced that it has secured <strong>other $36 million in funding for its projects.<\/strong> &nbsp;These types of investments, together with the holding of specialist conferences such as the International Conference on Social Robotics (ICSR), whose last and eleventh edition was held in Madrid between November 26 and 29, 2019, are signs that<strong>&nbsp;accompanying robotics still has a lot to say.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><a href=\"https:\/\/techcrunch-com.cdn.ampproject.org\/c\/s\/techcrunch.com\/2020\/02\/13\/intuition-robotics-raises-36m-for-its-empathetic-digital-companion\/amp\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">En el anuncio de la financiaci\u00f3n que acaba de hacer Intuition Robotics<\/a>, Dor Skuler explica en TechCrunch que la compa\u00f1\u00eda ha pasado los \u00faltimos dos a\u00f1os recopilando datos a trav\u00e9s de ElliQ.
