Education was no exception, but it is among the fields that have had to make the greatest and most agile adaptations in record time. Innovation, already at that time, was key, and today, that same innovation that accelerated changes already initiated and others that are radically new, is in full swing.    <\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Universities and their research groups are leading the way<\/strong> in everything related to educational innovation. These are the latest developments that we echo.   <\/p>\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">1. The power of YouTube in education and the gender gap<\/h4>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ua.es\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">University of Alicante<\/a> publishes the <a href=\"https:\/\/naerjournal.ua.es\/index\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><em>Journal of New Approaches in Educational Research<\/em><\/a>, a very interesting <strong>journal of new approaches in educational research<\/strong>. This biannual publication has included in its latest issue the article &#8220;<a href=\"https:\/\/naerjournal.ua.es\/article\/view\/v10n2-9\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">The gender gap between EduTubers and the factors that influence it in a significant way<\/a>&#8220;.   <\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This piece focuses on the use of YouTube in the educational environment and <strong>how the content creators of these channels perpetuate (or not) classic gender roles. <\/strong><a href=\"https:\/\/es.linkedin.com\/in\/danielpattier\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Daniel Pattier<\/a>, from the Department of Education Studies at the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ucm.es\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Complutense University<\/a> of Madrid, signs this article, in which he suggests formulas to reduce the gender gap through specific training and &#8220;social change that facilitates the presence of women as influential figures in informal education&#8221;, as he states in his <em>abstract.<\/em> <\/p>\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">2. LEGO Methodology for Software Engineering Education<\/h4>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Last summer, a team of researchers from the area of Computer Systems at the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.upm.es\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Polytechnic University of Madrid<\/a> published <a href=\"https:\/\/ieeexplore.ieee.org\/abstract\/document\/9477556\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">an illustrative study<\/a> that addresses how<strong> the use of innovative methodologies can motivate students and develop their <\/strong><strong><em>soft skills<\/em><\/strong><strong>.<\/strong> <\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">And he&#8217;s not talking about just any methodology, but about <strong>LEGO Serious Play<\/strong>, whereby the classic <a href=\"https:\/\/www.fundacionbankinter.org\/en\/news\/what-is-open-innovation-learn-about-some-success-stories\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">game<\/a> is used to help students learn the fundamentals of software engineering.  <\/p>\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">3. Educational innovation, in the words of those who exercise it<\/h4>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Educational innovation has two legs, the theoretical and the practical. The second includes the professionals who put it into practice, those who from the classroom<strong>encourage and test upward trends.<\/strong>  <\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.upm.es\/?id=32d686f719e7c710VgnVCM10000009c7648a____&amp;prefmt=articulo&amp;fmt=detail\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">In this interview<\/a>, <a href=\"http:\/\/quim.iqi.etsii.upm.es\/quimica_aplicada\/QA_ficha_G.Pinto.htm\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Gabriel Pinto<\/a>, who coordinates the Educational Innovation Group (GIE) of Chemistry Didactics at the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.upm.es\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Polytechnic University of Madrid<\/a>, delves into the objectives and results of the project &#8220;Promotion of inquiry-based STEAM learning&#8221;. It is always very enriching <strong>to learn first-hand about the experiences of those who dedicate their day to day in this field.<\/strong>  <\/p>\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">4. An overview of innovation in higher education  <\/h4>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Beyond the trends or latest advances in educational innovation, it never hurts to have an overview of the sector. Where it is and where it comes from <strong>to know where it is going<\/strong>. That is precisely what this article offers, entitled &#8220;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.tandfonline.com\/doi\/full\/10.1080\/07294360.2021.1985089\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Mapping Course Innovation in Higher Education: A Multifaceted Analytical Framework<\/a>&#8221; and signed by <a href=\"https:\/\/nl.linkedin.com\/in\/valentina-c-tassone-b3675a3\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Valentina C. Tassone<\/a>, from the Education and Learning Sciences Group at <a href=\"https:\/\/www.wageningenur.info\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Wageningen University<\/a>, in the Netherlands.    <\/p>\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">5. The opinion of expert voices  <\/h4>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><a href=\"https:\/\/theconversation.com\/us\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">The Conversation<\/a> is a portal that should be on the radar if we talk about scientific dissemination. With the slogan &#8220;Academic rigour, journalistic style&#8221;, it publishes articles and opinions of experts from various fields, including <a href=\"https:\/\/www.fundacionbankinter.org\/noticias\/el-futuro-de-la-educacion-esta-en-los-ecosistemas-inteligentes-de-co-aprendizaje\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">education<\/a>.   <\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Among its latest releases we find <a href=\"https:\/\/theconversation.com\/por-que-nunca-existira-un-modelo-educativo-ideal-y-por-que-es-bueno-que-asi-sea-168041\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">this article<\/a>, closely linked to the current (and eternal) <strong>debate on the ideal educational model<\/strong>, signed by <a href=\"https:\/\/es.linkedin.com\/in\/carmen-s%C3%A1nchez-ovcharov\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Carmen S\u00e1nchez<\/a>, dean of the Faculty of Education at the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ucjc.edu\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Camilo Jos\u00e9 Cela University<\/a>.  <\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Or this one, entitled &#8220;<a href=\"https:\/\/theconversation.com\/pensamiento-critico-o-memorizacion-asi-es-la-educacion-que-viene-158386\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Critical thinking or memorization? This is the education that is coming<\/a>,&#8221;<strong> <\/strong>about how the classic approaches to the educational environment run the risk of becoming obsolete if they are not updated.
