{"id":29855,"date":"2020-03-03T12:00:00","date_gmt":"2020-03-03T11:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.fundacionbankinter.org\/noticias\/we-present-the-startup-observatory-to-shed-light-on-entrepreneurial-activity-in-spain\/"},"modified":"2020-03-03T12:00:00","modified_gmt":"2020-03-03T11:00:00","slug":"we-present-the-startup-observatory-to-shed-light-on-entrepreneurial-activity-in-spain","status":"publish","type":"noticias","link":"https:\/\/www.fundacionbankinter.org\/en\/news\/we-present-the-startup-observatory-to-shed-light-on-entrepreneurial-activity-in-spain\/","title":{"rendered":"We present the Startup Observatory to shed light on entrepreneurial activity in Spain"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Through our Startups programme, the Bankinter Innovation Foundation is inaugurating the <a title=\"Startup Ecosystem Observatory\" href=\"https:\/\/datastudio.google.com\/u\/0\/reporting\/683aa010-4b0a-435e-9d03-27e5fa07d7f6\/page\/oPJEB\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Startup Ecosystem Observatory<\/a>, an initiative that was created with the aim of <strong>shedding light on entrepreneurial activity in Spain <\/strong>and to serve as a source of information for entrepreneurs, investors and the media.<\/p>\n<p>From today, entrepreneurs, investors, media and people interested in the entrepreneurship scene have at their disposal a<strong> digital, public and free tool, with data on investment in startups.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><a style=\"text-decoration-line: underline; outline: 0px;\" href=\"https:\/\/datastudio.google.com\/u\/0\/reporting\/683aa010-4b0a-435e-9d03-27e5fa07d7f6\/page\/oPJEB\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/documents\/165827\/166763\/Observatorio_Banner_blog_770x385px.jpg\/20bf7d16-4ccf-401d-8daa-97ee9a076918?t=1583236515671\" alt=\"\"><\/a>The Startup Observatory is based on data on investment operations published in the media over the last two years, and through various graphs, tables and tables<strong> it breaks down the main investment figures in Spain. <\/strong>This allows you to interact with the data to serve as a source of reference information for entrepreneurs and investors in decision-making.<\/p>\n<p>The <strong>Observatory&#8217;s interactive analyses make it possible to reflect<\/strong>, among other points:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Global data on investment in Spain,<\/strong> with details of the main sectors, operations and most active investors.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Year-on-year investment outlook,<\/strong> comparing various data such as the size of each round.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Investment analysis and trends, <\/strong>with information on monthly evolution, types of investors or the origin of funds.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Analysis of divestment operations (exit) <\/strong>in order to anticipate trends, with data on the evolution and origin of funds, among others.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Together with the launch of the Observatory, we present a first report analysing its data: <strong>&#8220;Investment Trends in Spain in 2019&#8221;.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The main trend we have detected is that<strong> sustained investment<\/strong>, understood as recurring and exempt from large one-off operations, <strong>is growing at a good pace<\/strong>, specifically by 47%, reaching<strong> 735 million euros. <\/strong>In addition, the number of operations closed last year rose by 44%, totalling 231 projects that obtained investment.<\/p>\n<p>However, if we take the total investment made in startups, including large and exceptional funding rounds,<strong> the volume stood at 1,218 million euros in 2019<\/strong>, a figure that represents a slight year-on-year decrease of 2.9%.<\/p>\n<p>Despite the decline, the conclusion is that<strong> the startup sector has healthy organic growth <\/strong>and less tendency to concentrate investment in a few operations.<\/p>\n<div class=\"youtube-embed-wrapper\" style=\"position: relative; padding-bottom: 56.25%; padding-top: 30px; height: 0; overflow: hidden;\"><iframe loading=\"lazy\" class=\"videoYoutube\" style=\"position: absolute; top: 0; left: 0; width: 100%; height: 100%;\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/lxLlp1mDznE\" width=\"640\" height=\"360\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><\/iframe><\/div>\n<p><strong>You can access the full report and data from the Bankinter Innovation Foundation&#8217;s Startup Observatory <a title=\"by clicking here.\" href=\"https:\/\/www.fundacionbankinter.org\/programas\/startups\/observatorio\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">by clicking here.<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>What is investing in startups like in Spain?
