A few days ago, Ram\u00f3n Blanco<\/a>, a leading entrepreneur in the fintech world in Spain,<\/strong> visited Bankinter’s headquarters to share his learnings with us.<\/strong><\/p>\n

After several years working in investment banking, Ram\u00f3n Blanco founded Indexa.<\/strong>
\nIndexa is an automated portfolio manager of index funds and pension plans, with more than \u20ac389 million under management and more than 18 thousand clients. In addition, Ram\u00f3n has been an investor in numerous successful startups<\/g> such as Idealista and Sindelantal among others. Currently, he is co-founder and CEO of Bewater Funds<\/strong>, a management company that creates a closed-end capital investment fund (FICC) for each company in which it invests. <\/p>\n

  1. A global strategy is not always adapted to the local. <\/strong>From his experience in marketing, Ram\u00f3n found that what was created in Germany did not work in Spain.<\/li>\n
  2. Working with a diverse group of people enriches you a lot.<\/strong> Ram\u00f3n got a Fulbright scholarship to do an MBA at Harvard, which transformed and enriched his professional career.<\/li>\n
  3. Entrepreneurs are not born, they are made. <\/strong>Training is essential. This is another of his learnings from his time at Harvard. <\/li>\n
  4. You learn more from failures than from successes.<\/strong><\/li>\n
  5. From his time at Boursorama, he confirmed that the financial markets in Europe are very different and it is impossible to replicate strategies<\/strong> since both the products, the customers or the competition are very different.<\/li>\n
  6. After his entrepreneurial experience, he understood that in internet businesses it is only worth launching and testing<\/strong>, since market studies fail, despite being proven in other markets.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n
