Start ups as source of innovation.
Coinciding with Bankinter's first anniversary in Portugal, the Bankinter Innovation Foundation celebrated the second session of Frontiers of Innovation in Lisbon on 3 April.
In this edition the conference was based on the role of Startups as generators of innovation. In this new economic cycle, start ups are presented as the best source of innovation. Whether as a tool for creating wealth and employment through the development of new business projects or as the origin of new projects in companies already consolidated.
In this conference of the Foundation Bankinter Innovation has been treated how a strong ecosystem of entrepreneurship attracts innovation to society, empowering projects and companies that nurture each other in innovation. For this it has been counted with the participation of:
Richard Kivel, Senior Entrepreneur and Trustee of the Innovation Bankinter Foundation. His career as President of the MIT Global Enterprise Forum (MITEF) was based on the international expansion of this entity, focused on the creation and support of new companies (startups) from the prestigious educational institution.
Gonçalo Amorim, who was the representative of the ecosystem of Portuguese startups, as Executive Director of BGI S.A., one of the main accelerators of Portuguese companies.
Clemente Cebrián, Co-founder of El Ganso, which offered a startup that managed to grow to become one of the textile references in Spain, with a prominent internationalization, with its own establishments in Portugal, France, United Kingdom and Chile.
Chris Meyer, Bankinter Innovation Foundation's trustee and CEO of Nerve, moderated the debate.
They also participated in the conference: Manuel Caldeira Cabral, Minister of Economy of Portugal, who confirmed the importance of startups for the country's economy, Carlos Brandao, Country Manager of Bankinter Portugal and Mª Dolores Dancausa, CEO of Bankinter, Which closed the act.
These events of the Innovation Foundation Bankinter is a step further of the implementation of all the activities of the foundation in Portugal.
