Neuroscience and superhumans

Antonio Damasio, David Dornsife Professor of Neuroscience and Director of the Brain and Creativity Institute at the University of Southern California, performs the keynote speech of the 21st Future Trends Forum, presenting the trends that have occurred in neuroscience with regard to the transfer of human intelligence to robots and machines. According to Damasio, neuroscience is a discipline that has been concerned with the mechanisms which characterize "being alive," the so-called miracle of life, language, cognitive systems studied in the middle of the 19th century, and the mechanisms of perception and memory. The field is now more focused on the study of emotions, social and individual behaviors, and human-like behaviors and abilities that could be moved to robots.
