Raúl Rojas es investigador en inteligencia artificial y redes neuronales como profesor en el Departamento de Matemáticas e Informática de la Freie Universitaet Berlin.

Aunque la mayor parte de su investigación y enseñanza actual gira en torno a la inteligencia artificial y sus aplicaciones, tiene títulos académicos en matemáticas, informática y economía.

Es asesor del gobierno mexicano, fue nombrado Profesor del Año en Alemania en 2014 y recibió el Premio Nacional de Ciencias de México en 2015.
