Access to Observatory

Access to Observatory

The Observatory was created with the purpose of promoting transparency in the Spanish entrepreneurial ecosystem. Through dynamic graphics and personalized filters, it facilitates the exploration of entrepreneurial activity in Spain.

It is a resource at the service of entrepreneurs, investors, media and interested parties in general, which allows them to understand the evolution of the ecosystem and make informed decisions based on open and reliable data.

What am I going to find?

The Observatory is based on a database of investment operations published in the media in recent years, and through various graphs, tables and tables it breaks down the main investment magnitudes in Spain (you can find out more here).

You will find information on the sectors that attract the most investment, the cities with the most active ecosystems, the startups that have attracted the highest volume of investment or the most active national and international investors, among other data.

Frequently asked questions

The Observatory’s data come from news published in leading media outlets, specialising in startups, economics, finance or generalist media. This source guarantees the traceability and reliability of the information presented.

For an investment round to be included, it must have been published in at least one recognized media outlet. This ensures the veracity and traceability of the information.

The data is updated at least once a week, guaranteeing updated and relevant information on entrepreneurial activity in Spain.

The Observatory is managed by the Bankinter Innovation Foundation’s Startups team, which is responsible for collecting, verifying and updating the data, as well as developing the interactive visualisations that make it easier to consult.

The Observatory collects information on startups that have starred in investment rounds published in the media. It is not limited to specific sectors, so it includes a wide variety of start-ups active in the Spanish entrepreneurial ecosystem.

Currently, the data is not available for direct download. However, you can consult and explore all the information through the interactive visualizations available on each page.

If you wish to reference the Observatory in a publication, presentation or research, you can cite it as follows:

If you notice that an investment round is missing that should be included, you can email us the relevant information at emprendedores@bankinter.com. It is important that you attach or link to a news item published in a media outlet that confirms the round, as this is one of the requirements for incorporation into the Observatory.

You can easily access all sections of the Observatory through the index. Click on the icon in the top left corner to display the full list of available pages.

On each page of the Observatory you will find interactive filters that allow you to analyse the information in a personalised way. These filters affect all the graphics on the page, facilitating a more precise exploration adapted to your interests.
