Carlos Hidalgo

Director of the National Fusion Laboratory at CIEMAT. Spain

Carlos Hidalgo, PhD in Physics, is currently leading the Spanish National Fusion Laboratory at CIEMAT. He has dedicated his career to research in solid-state physics and fusion science, with experience at various laboratories in Europe, the United States and Japan. He has led multiple research teams within the International Fusion Programme and has participated in European and international advisory committees on fusion science and technology. Currently, he chairs the Forum on Physics and Society of the European Physical Society (EPS) and leads the Nuclear Fusion Group of the EURATOM Scientific and Technical Committee (STC).
