Dava Newman, served as Deputy Administrator of NASA in the Obama administration, from May 2015 through January 2017. Dava’s research includes space flight experiments, ground-based simulations, mathematical modeling, and field analogs. Some recent projects focus on advanced planetary space suit design, dynamics and control of astronaut motion, Earth systems for ocean and climate impact, and policy analysis.
