Juan Carlos is an Aeronautical Engineer from the Polytechnic University of Madrid (UPM), specialized in aircraft and motor-power. He joined the CDTI in 1996 as a member of the Spanish Delegation in the European Space Agency (ESA), participating as a delegate in almost all the committees of the organization. Within the CDTI he has held different positions- Head of the Space Department, Head of the Aeronautical Department, Director of Aerospace Programs, Director of Global Innovative Markets, Director of International Programs and Director of Space, Large Scientific Facilities and Dual Programmes
