Juan Carlos Lopez

Juan Carlos López was born in Mexico in 1967. He began his scientific career in the mid-1980s at the National Autonomous University of Mexico, in search of neurochemical correlates of memory formation. Juan Carlos obtained his Ph.D. from Columbia University under the supervision of Eric Kandel, and carried out postdoctoral work at the Cajal Institute in Madrid.

He is the author of two scientific books and, before joining the journal Nature Medicine, Juan Carlos was the editor of Nature Reviews Neuroscience in London.
