As Enagás CEO, Marcelino Oreja has actively led the internationalization process that started in 2011 for successfully exporting Enagás’ leadership in energy infrastructures, both to America and to Europe.In a context of energy transition, he drove initiatives to promote the use of hydrogen and other renewable gases, to move towards decarbonisation and boosting innovation within the company in these areas. He led the development of Enagás Emprende, the company’s Corporate Entrepreneurship and Open Innovation Programme, from which 14 startups have been supported and one Venture fund launched, under his professional and personal commitment. In 2019, the company received the EU Innovative Programme Award for its intrapreneurship projects.He was responsable for the digitalisation process to engage Enagás as one of the most efficient operators in Europe.Marcelino Oreja has been a Trustee of the Transforma España Foundation, member of the Rey Juan Carlos University council, Executive Vice chairman of Club de la Excelencia and Trustee of Thyssen-Bornemisza Foundation.
