Pito Salas Salas and Associates, a consulting firm that provides advisory services on strategies, design and implementation of innovative software products and services.
Salas has more than 20 years of experience in various areas of the software industry, such as the creation and delivery of innovative software products and services. Salas, who began his career as a software developer and engineer, holds a degree in computer science from Brandeis University. He also has practical experience in software development, a field in which he has worked with different teams, with very different development and engineering mentalities and cultures.
A fundamental part of Salas’ experience was his work at Lotus Development Corporation. At Lotus he was responsible for the invention and subsequent creation and delivery of Lotus Improv, an application that presented great novelties in financial and spreadsheet models.
In 1996 Salas joined his efforts with those of Jeffrey Beir, with whom he founded eRoom Technology, a company dedicated to providing first-class collaborations to companies. Salas held the position of CEO and was responsible for the company’s product and technology line, both in terms of strategies and implementation.
Most recently, Salas founded Salas Associates, a company that aimed to leverage its expertise in strategy, design, development and implementation of innovative software products and services for our clients in the software and life sciences sectors. In parallel, Salas leads a team in charge of the creation of BlogBridge, an open source project that seeks to develop a system to discover and organize large amounts of information.
